National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya, NITM) is one of the National Institutes of Technology. It is in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. The institute is one of the 31 NITs in India established as Institutions of National Importance with funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. It was established in 2010 and started functioning from its temporary campus in Shillong in 2012.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow for the project titled "Development and Testing of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Assisted Hybrid Double-Slope Desalination Solar Still for Off-grid Rural-North East India" under SERB, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (File No.: CRG/2021/007864) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Junior Research Fellow Vacancy:

• MTech/ME (or, BTech) in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Fluid/ Thermal Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent in Master's degree (or, 75% marks or an equivalent in Bachelor's degree).
• Relaxation for SC/ST & PH as per Government of India norms. The candidate should be GATE qualified.

Desirable Qualification & Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with working experience relevant to the project. Candidate should have indepth knowledge of heat/mass transfer, fluid mechanics and solar desalination system.
