About KVK Tura - Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a district level institution engaged in transfer of latest agricultural technologies to the end users for bridging the gap between the technology developed and technology adoption. It works through partnership mode with allied departments and agencies. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Garo Hills was sanctioned by ICAR in the year 1979 vide sanctioned order no. F-22-(1) 79 Edn. Dated 11th April 1979 and started functioning from May, 1980 under the Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-III, ICAR, Umiam and administrative control of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya. Since inception, this KVK has been working for the improvement of livelihood of farming community in the district through scientific intervention in agriculture and allied sector.
