About Soil Conservation Department

Soil Erosion is a major problem facing the state, which is more dominant in the areas where shifting cultivation is practised. In the tribal areas or the sixth schedule districts of the state wherein the primitive form of agriculture or shifting cultivation is practised, the need to study the growing problem has been long felt. In the year 1953, at the request of the State Government and a section of tribal leaders, a preliminary study was undertaken by the Inspector General of Forests, and the Agricultural Commissioner, Govt. of India. Based on the recommendations of the experts, a pilot project to tackle the problem of diminishing soil fertility of the shifting agricultural lands was undertaken in the Garo Hills in the year 1954.

Educational Qualification

Full time regular Diploma in Civil Engineering from Govt./ Govt. recognized Institutes having Auto Cad certificate and Diploma in Computer Application. The Diploma in Civil Engineering must be a Regular Course.

Graduate in Commerce from a recognized University. Minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/ Certificate in computer application with Tally software from recognized Institute.

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University. Candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/ Certificate in computer proficiency from a recognized institute such as Word Processor, Spread Sheet, concept of database, internet, email and computer typing in English and Assamese language.

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University. Diploma in Stenography in English from recognized Govt. Institution.

Short Hand Speed = 80 WPM

Typing Speed = 40 WPM

Must be computer literate and should have knowledge in MS-Office Package, Internet, email etc.

 Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University. Minimum 1(one) year Diploma/ Certificate in computer application from recognized Institute with Minimum typing speed of 40 (Forty) words per minute in English.

Experience Details

Minimum 7 years experience in the relevant field having knowledge in preparation of Plan & Estimates, maintenance of M.B. and Entry in MIS. Candidates working in similar capacity in Govt./ Semi Govt. office/ Department/ Organization or PSUs will be given preference.

Minimum 7 (seven) years experience in the relevant field with working knowledge in Tally software and sound knowledge of Government Accounting, Income Tax, GST and other taxation matters. Candidates working in similar capacity in Govt./ Semi Govt. office/ Department/ Organization or PSUs will be given preference.

Minimum 2 (two) years experience in relevant post/ fields with working experience in Office Administration/ File Management/ Office Correspondence with Government projects under any Govt./ Semi Govt. office/ Department/ Organization or PSUs.

Minimum 2 (two) years experience as Stenographer in any Govt./ Semi Govt. office/ Department/ Organization or PSUs with working experience in Office Administration/ File Management/ Office correspondence will be preferred.

Minimum 2 (Two) years post qualification experience in data entry, MIS related works in any Govt./ Semi Govt. office/ Department/ Organization or PSUs.
