The problem of garbage disposal
Published on:

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to draw attention to the fact that proper disposal of waste continues to be an issue in our city. Our city generates a huge amount of garbage daily, but there are not enough steps taken for its disposal. The garbage is collectively dumped in dumping sites without its segregation, this result to the rotting of idle organic waste but also the recyclable products are lost in this. So, there is an urgent need to segregate the waste generated so that the dry waste or recyclable wastes are recycled or recovered. And the wet waste filled with organic matter would end up in dumping sites or landfills. I appeal to citizens to practise waste segregation at the household level by using separate bins for dry and wet waste.
