The richest person in the world lived in the ancient past in the period when earning money was not that easy and pure wealth was harder to measure.

At present Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk and Amazon's Chairman, Jeff Bezos are regarded as the richest across the globe.

According to the 2019 Forbes billionaire list, Jeff Bezos with an estimated income of 131 billion dollars is the wealthiest man in the world currently.

But if we talk about the richest person of all time it is neither Bezos nor Elon who can be named. Mansa Musa I of Mali, Nicolas II of Russia and John D. Rockefeller are counted among the richest person ever in the world.

Mansa Musa who is the 14th-century West African king is considered the richest person of all time whose wealth was uncountable and indescribable. He was so rich that his generous charity works destroyed the entire economy of the country.

Rudolph Butch Ware, an associate professor of history at the California University informed that the contemporary accounts of the wealth of Musa were so large that it is impossible to even have a guess about the total amount of money he truly had.

In the year 2015, Jacob Davidson wrote about Musa for Money.com that the African ruler was richer than anyone could ever describe.

A United States Celebrity Net Worth estimated the net worth of Musa at 400 billion dollars but economics historians said that it is not possible to give a number of his wealth.

Mansa Musa, the Mali Empire king and devout Muslim was born in 1280 and his Mansa Abu-Bakr ruled the kingdom until 1312 that stretched over 2,000 miles. The empire had great resources including salt and gold.

According to the British Museum, during the reign of the Mali ruler, the Mali kingdom accounted for almost half of the gold from the Old World. Under the rule of Musa, the Mali Empire saw huge growth with 24 citied annexations that includes Timbuktu.
