If Messi Wants Argentina to Qualify for WC 2018 Knock-out round….

A big thanks to the crushing 3-0 defeat by Croatia on Friday, Lionel Messi’s Argentina is running through troubled waters to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018 knock-out round.

Team Argentina is presently in the Group D owing to only 1 point from the two matches it has played till now.

Interestingly, if predictions and permutation and combination are to be believed, let’s see, what are the possibilities that could turn the face of events for Lionel’s Argentina-

Situation 1

If Nigeria is defeated by Iceland: Messi will have to work magic and beat Nigeria and pray for Croatia so that it can beat Iceland in their last group stage encounter. This will result in Argentina’s qualification process to mellow down to goal difference only if they can beat Nigeria. But also, Iceland has to sacrifice for Messi’s dream and face heavy defeat against Croatia which is currently topping the group chart!

Situation 2

When Iceland draws with Nigeria: Messi desperately need to win against Nigeria and Iceland will have to either draw or lose against Croatia.

Situation 3

When Nigeria defeats Iceland: Nigeria needs to be defeated by Argentina and Iceland has to either draw or lose to Croatia in the other game. But, the twist is if Iceland emerges victorious in its last game, the tug-of-war battle for the second position will again reduce to goal difference where Lionel Messi, currently with (-3) points will have to put on his magic boots and seal with a big victory over Nigeria.
