One basic requirement each of us want existing in our lives is a relationship. We all want a relationship which has a lot of love and one that withstands the test of time. Relationships are so important to us, yet it becomes very complicated. Often we have seen two people in relationship move away in their respective paths because the relationship they were in fails to stand strong in the thick and thin of their lives. Each of us has different issues but amongst all, maturity is very important in a relationship.
Relationship experts and relationship coaches suggest that women should be dating men older than them if they want their relationship to last longer. It is said that this age gap is necessary to be at the same level of maturity. It is a debated topic and many of them might not agree to it. Rightfully it might not be agreeable because it is said love just happens just by chance and there can be no criteria while dating, not even age.
As per experts, both man and woman mature emotionally at different times and that man takes longer than woman. Maturity comes with age and a mature man tends to be more decisive, has better ability to solve problems. A mature man knows what exactly he wants to do with the woman he is dating.

Well, but with older man you can be at peace because they know either to commit or not, they would not participate in silly childish games that younger men often do.

When asked about trust in a couple, be it man or woman, trustworthy and warm partner is what one would wish to have. Older man can be trusted as they allow no nuisance in their lives. For example, man value attractiveness and vitality whereas woman gives more importance to status and resources a man possess. Also experts suggest that women are attracted to men older to them because generally an older man is more resourceful and possess certain status in society than a younger man. Putting it more clearly, an older man is more stable financially than a younger man. It might not be the same in every case but it is assumed to be so.
Nowadays many women work in good positions and sometimes even that higher than a man. So in that case a woman does not prioritize a man who is more resourceful because the woman herself earns and is resourceful.
Also, an older man is not unstable and less likely to have children right away. This is another reason why woman should choose older man. Younger man fail to see what is on their plates, but this is not the case with older man. The more the older the more perceptive is a man.
Older men are more compatible. And we cannot deny how compatibility is important for the longevity of a relationship.
Studies say that couples who have age gap of around 7 to 10 years enjoy a higher level of satisfaction, trust, commitment. Also they have less jealousy which is often seen in couples who are almost of the same age group. Older man has lot of experience and they make use of this experience to make a relationship healthy and strong which a younger man fails at. Human lives are broadly divided into phases. And there comes a phase wherein we tend to achieve as much as possible and while doing so couples fail to cope with the different needs and goal of each one. Dating an older man is an added benefit because the phase of the younger woman and that of the older man is quite different. After reaching a certain stage an older man focuses on different aspects of life. In such a situation, older man can reconcile with the younger woman and can well cater to the needs and goals of his lady. This strengthens the relationship and the younger partner feels more valued in the relationship.
In different countries, both culturally and socially, age gap has different opinion. In some non- Western cultures, the average age group is larger than that of a western country. For example in Africa, couples are seen with large age difference. Also there are societies in which large age gap is disapproved. And in such disapproval from society, family and friends, a relationship fall apart and cannot withstand time in most cases. Sometimes it is not the people in a relationship but the societal pressures and judgments which create a gap between two people and they chose to move apart.

Many opine that the success of a relationship does not matter only on the age gap. There are certain other important aspects as well which keeps the relationship strong and it goes a long way. Partners should share similar beliefs, values, and goals; be supportive, committed, trustful, communicative, honest, loyal, share intimacy and resolve issues in a better way. Age gap in couples may be fruitful but at the same time it brings lots of challenges as well. As long as couples put constant efforts in choosing each other at every phase of their lives, nothing matters actually, not even age. If two people choose each other over and over again even in the most disastrous of times, a relationship will sustain and live long and then even age cannot stand as a barrier in uniting two people.
