New Delhi: Classic legend and iconic two-wheeler manufacturer Yezdi (Yezdi) is back in the Indian market as it has officially reintroduced the Yezdi brand in India by launching three new motorcycles - Yezdi Adventure, Yezdi Scrambler, and Yezdi Roadster. Interestingly, the names of all three bikes represent the class of motorcycles they belong to.
These motorcycles are aimed at wooing customers looking for regular movement as well as those willing to ply on off-beat roads.
Yezdi has opened the bookings for all three motorcycles from Thursday and the bikes have started reaching dealerships across India. Reportedly, it has appeared that Yezdi will share the same showroom with Jawa.
Company returns after 26 years
Yezdi is the third brand revived by Classic Legends for the Indian market. Classic Legends is a company owned by Mahindra Group. Earlier it revived brands like Jawa and BSA Motorcycles. With these three motorcycles, Yezdi makes a comeback in the Indian market after 26 years. First launched in India in 1961, the brand became popular with the Roadking, Monarch and Delux models. However, the two-wheeler manufacturer stopped production of its bikes in the year 1996.
Now, let's have look at the bikes:
With a neo-retro design styling, the Yezdi Roadster has a strong presence on the road and it comes with round LED headlights, taillights, and dual exhaust. The bike has a digital console that shows all the essential ride-related information like tripmeter, the distance at which oil will run out, timing, ABS mode, and gear indicators.
Engine and Suspension
The bike has the same 334cc engine that is used in Jawa motorcycles. The roadster is powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which gives 29.7 PS of power and 29 Nm of peak torque. The bike has a 6-speed gearbox, while the suspension work is done by telescopic front forks and gas-charged twin rear shock absorbers with preload adjusters.
The bike comes with a cradle chassis and the total weight of the bike is 184 kg and the wheelbase is 1,440 mm. It has a ground clearance of 175 mm. The wheels of the bike are tubeless. Coming to the colors option, the bike is offered in five color options. These include Roadster Dark Smoke Grey, Steel Blue, Hunter Green, Roadster Chrome Gallant Gray, and Sin Silver.
The Yezdi Roadster price starts at Rs 1.98 Lakh ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 2.06 Lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with other motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Royal Enfield Classic 350) as well as the Meteor 350.
This is the second bike of the company and it is a notch above the Roadster in terms of features and specifications. It comes with LED headlights, taillights apart from turn indicators, clear lenses, and a round-shaped LCD digital display for the riders. It gets handlebar-mounted USB and Types C charging point as standard features.
The same 334cc single cylinder 4 stroke liquid cooled DOHC unit has been used for the Yezdi Scrambler as well. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the bike can generate 29.1 PS of maximum power and 28.2 Nm of peak torque. Its suspension is similar to that of a roadster bike.
The bike comes with a dual cradle chassis, also gets dual exhausts. The bike weighs 182 kg, has a wheelbase of 1,403 mm, and comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The Yezdi Scrambler has a ground clearance of 200 mm, which is slightly higher than the Roadster.
Yezdi Scrambler is offered in six color options. These include Fire Orange, Yelling Yellow, Outlaw Olive, Rebel Red, Mean Green, and Midnight Blue.
The Yezdi Scrambler price starts at Rs 2.05 Lakh ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 2.11 Lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival bikes like the Honda CB350 RS, Jawa 42 as well as the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter.
The third model in Yezdi's lineup is the Yezdi Adventure that will appeal to the adventure lover. Yezdi Adventure offers more features and customization as compared to the two other bikes. Apart from the LED headlight unit that comes in the protective casing, the bike also gets an LCD digital display for the riders. Yezdi says this is a first-of-its-kind feature and will be provided as standard.

Its 334cc single cylinder 4 stroke liquid cooled DOHC engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, generates maximum power of 30.2 PS and peak torque of 29.9 Nm. Suspension is provided with telescopic forks and coil spring at the front and mono-shock absorber with coil spring and linkage mechanism at the rear.
Coming to the dual cradle chassis, the Yezdi Adventure also gets a single-side exhaust. The bike weighs 188 kg, which is the highest among the three motorcycles.
