The Sudarshan Kriya has been developed by the great philosopher and Yoga Shiromani, Shri Shri Ravishankar. It is a variation and combination of several Pranayamas or breathing techniques. The pranayama is a method of acquiring prana from the atmosphere into our bodies which is responsible for all the vital functions of our body. The literal meaning of Sudarshan Kriya is action with proper vision. With the help of this method, every part of our body is supplied with fresh prana which activates our body cells.
We have invisible nadis or energy channels in our body namely ida or lunar, pingala or solar and sushumna or Brahma (central) nadi through which prana is supplied. The ida energy is soft, yin or female and mild while the pingala energy is strong and yang or male. The ida and pingala currents flow through northeast and southwest and through the left and right nostrils respectively. Sudarshan Kriya generates pingala energy which in turn can nullify defective energy from the south and southwest. Though this technique is very effective, its effects are not permanent. One has to practice the kriya regularly to reap its harvest.
ASTRO-VAASTU REMEDIES FOR MANGAL (MARS)
Mars or Mangal Graha is responsible for patience, power, anger, excitement, enemies, quarrels, land and immovable properties, younger brother, blood, etc. A debilitated Mars in the horoscope or ill effects of this planet can affect all the factors cited above. There is a direct correlation between Vaastu and planets because, different planets rule different directions. The Mangal Graha or Mars controls the south. If there are defects in the south, invariably there will be ill effects of Mangal. A defective south can also cause financial problems. By correcting the south and taking remedies for Mars, lot of problems can be overcome.
1. According to Vaastu Shastra, the south direction is comfort, living rules , life and death. The bedroom or store should be kept at south. The south is also responsible for the welfare of ladies.
2. If there are any Vaastu defects at south like an underground water body or depression, corrective measures like the Mangal Yantra or Vaastu pyramids must be installed.
3. Lord Hanuman should be worshipped on Tuesdays and saffron or red coloured Boondi Prasad should be offered. Lord Hanuman is the keeper of the south and his favourite colour is red.
4. Feed jaggery mixed with chana to monkeys or cows on a Tuesday.
5. There is a Beej (seed) Mantra for Tuesdays. Which is "ॐ क्रां क्रीं क्रौं सः भौमाय नमः "(Aum Krang Kreeng Krong soh Bhaumaye namaha)। Recite it every Tuesday to remove defects in the south.i.e Mangal
THE UNLUCKY NUMBER 3
Since the Vedic times, the number 3 is considered unlucky by the Hindus following Sanatan Dharma. Anything amounting to three is not used or offered for religious purposes. Three chapatis are not cooked or given on one plate. Similarly, three sweets are not put on a plate for puja offerings.
Three chapatis are considered food for the dead. Putting three chapatis on a plate is like offering to the dead! So, it is considered inauspicious to give three chapatis to a living person. It is believed that by offering three chapatist o a person, the life expectancy may be reduced! The love for the person decreases who offers three chapatis or sweets.
According to Vaastu Shastra, a person born under the number three should not use red stones or colour in their house.
Tulsi is great for Vaastu correction without demolition. Wherever there are any Vaastu defects, the tulsi plant should be kept there to energise and remove the negative energy. The plant must be watered regularly and should not be allowed to wither.
Lighting an oil or cow ghee lamp near the tulsi plant in the evening everyday can remove all financial difficulties.
FEW TIPS WITH TULSI
Take a bath early in the morning. Take a brass or copper pot and put a few Tulsi leaves with water. Make any wish or prayer and sprinkle the water on the main door. It will remove all the negative energy.
If you have a Tulsi plant in your house, then do not pluck its leaves on Sundays and Tuesdays. DO NOT touch the Tulsi plant with dirty hands.
TIP FOR GIRLS
Girls/ladies should not comb their hair after dark. It is believed that evil forces become active in the dark and they are very fond of open hair to get inside them. This can cause harm to womenfolk. So ladies are advised not to untie their bun at night.
Q. I have started a garment shop before Durga puja. Despite the festive season, the sale is not good. Can you give me some Vaastu tips to improve the sales?
Arjun Saha, Guwahati
Ans. Since you have not sent me the directions of your shop, I am repeating some general Vaastu rules for a shop.
1. The main entrance ideally should be at northeast, east or north. But Central South or Central West are also good.
2. The owner of the shop should sit according to Vaastu at South or West so that he/she faces East or North.
3. The Plot or site of shop must be in regular shape such as rectangular or square. Irregular or cut premises should be avoided.
4. Keep the heavy stuff at southwest, west or south in that order.
5. If the cash counter is facing the north, then the cash box must be on the left. If the cash counter is facing the east, then the cash box should be on the roght. The main door of the shop should not make any creaking noise.
6. Install a Vyapar Vriddhi Yantra at Puja. You can also keep a Sriyantra and a Kuber Yantra.
7. Keep a Tulsi plant wrapped in a yellow cloth at northeast of your shop on a Thursday.
