Manipur govt. to pay train fare to its people stranded outside Northeast

Manipur Government announced that it would provide train fare to all the state natives stranded outside North-east during the ongoing lockdown. "Train fare of the stranded people, who are coming here from other states, will be borne by the state govt. After arriving, they'll be quarantined in community quarantine centre already arranged by concerned MLAs, local clubs, Dy Commissioners &medical officers," Chief Minister Biren Singh said. However, the Chief Minister clarified that no native of the state would receive such financial assistance who are residing in other North-eastern states. It may be mentioned here that a controversy erupted a few days ago that some state governments in the country show intention to help migrant workers, who are hit hard by the lockdown.
