COVID-19 update: Maruti Suzuki to assist in the production of masks, ventilators

GUWAHATI: Maruti Suzuki will help companies to scale up production of ventilators, masks.

The automotive company has entered in agreement with AgVa Healthcare for this purpose.

“At the request of the Government of India, Maruti Suzuki examined its ability to assist in the production of ventilators, masks and other protective equipment”, the company said in a statement.

It will be AgVa Healthcare which will be responsible for the technology, performance for ventilators produced and sold by them and “MSIL would also help, to the required extent to arrange financing, and obtain all permissions and approvals required to enable the higher production. MSIL would provide these services free of cost to AgVa Healthcare,” according to Maruti. "The intention is to reach a volume of 10,000 units per month," added Maruti.
