
New Delhi: Famous Photo-messaging app, Instagram is mulling to introduce a content creator subscription model soon.
Reportedly, the subscription model will allow content creators to earn money by offering exclusive content to the subscribers.
According to a report by TechCrunch, a new ''Instagram Subscription'' in-app purchase section has been added to the US app store.
For the time being, Instagram Subscriptions are priced at Rs 89 per month; however, it might not be the same or final price when the service rolls out.
It is expected to be like Twitter Blue where fans can get access to exclusive content.
Currently, a membership button is being tested by the Instagram which will appear on a maker's profile. Through this membership, fans will be able to get exclusive content like stories and live videos by subscribing the creator.
Notably, a special member badge will also be shown next to the username, whenever, ones DM creators or post any comment on their stuffs. The badge will help to interact with the creator.
As per the report, the content creators can monitor their revenue and members who are active. They can also end their memberships apart from customizing their subscription price and name
Meanwhile, companies such as YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter and Pinterest, have also launched their own platforms for creator subscription.
