It is welcomed that the Allahbad High Court passed a very significant order clearly saying that under no circumstances sound amplifying devices can be permitted to be used between 10 pm and 6 pm by the district administration. The High Court passed the order analysing the pros and cons and earlier orders of various courts as well as consulting the Constitution. In this respect the Supreme Court of India had observed in an earlier case that no religion or religious sect can claim that the use of loudspeakers or similar instruments for prayers or for worship or for celebrating religious festivals is an essential part of the religion which is protected under Article 25.

This is more important in lockdown period too.
