Distorting History

After the rout in the last parliamentary election, Rahul Gandhi offered his resignation from the post of Congress president. The drama that was played out thereafter is known to all. The loyalist old guard pleaded Rahul Gandhi to reconsider his decision but ultimately the party reins again fell in the hands of his mother Sonia Gandhi. This was bound to happen as everybody knows Congress means the Nehru-Gandhis and vice versa. Immediately after taking charge, the interim party president published a document named ‘Prerona’ for party cadres. It was published to fire them up, but is replete with distortions. The document seeks to change facts about the history of the nation, which I feel will never benefit the party workers or supporters. Such distortion can only bring discredit in the long run.
