Garbage Near GMCH

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to highlight the landfill site of Udayanchal Path, Guwahati Medical College Road, Bhangagarh which leads to Guwahati Medical College Hostel 2. The people of the nearby slum area, Harijan Colony and local residents dump waste on one side of the road; the nearest stores also do the same. The garbage collectors never come to collect the trash. The roadside so near to GMCH has thus become very unhygienic. The toxic stink coming from the landfill can cause harmful health effects to people living nearby and passing the road. Guwahati has been listed as the second cleanest capital in the Northeastern region according to the Swachh Surveksan 2019 results. The city was ranked in the 303rd position out of the 425 clean cities. But these landfill sites at different places have also become a matter of concern in maintaining cleanliness. I request the Health and Family Welfare Minister to look into the matter and take necessary action.
