Sirajuddin Ajmal's audacity!
Sirajuddin Ajmal, MLA (AIUDF), made an outrageous comment recently within the confines of the Assam Assembly, while answering to local journalist; he refused to answer in Assamese, saying that he is an international man. Not knowing Assamese is a different issue altogether, but knowing Assamese and refusing to answer in Assamese is another issue and has added insult to injury. Would it be possible for him or his ilk to utter such rapacious words in West Bengal? Things would have gone up in flames! How has he acquired such audacity to show total disrespect to Assamese, being a part and parcel of Assam? When the arrow hit the target there is no point in becoming apologetic on the part of Sirajuddin Ajmal. I would not blame such unscrupulous persons. There are many in the market. Rather we should blame ourselves and our Assamese leadership. We are timid and excessively self-centered people. We have given enough indulgence to these people. Instances are many. First, we bowed down shamelessly to the Bengalis of Silchar, when they tarred Assamese hoardings. Second, our State Government has discarded Assamese language papers from APSC exams just to help some none-Assamese people to have easy access to State's administration. Third, the same State Government is up in arms against Assamese-medium schools and Assamese language in schools' curriculum, and instead, encouraging English-medium schools to come up in a big way in the State. Are these not self-defeating agendas? Whether we are doing those under duress or to appease some particular section of leaders/people? Such self-immolating actions are not to be found in any society across the length and breadth of the country. So we proved ourselves to be unique. When the enemy is within, nobody can save us from extinction!
I am of the view that people like Sirajuddin Ajmal are the real enemy of the Muslim community of Assam as a whole. They hoodwink the gullible by spreading false propaganda. Some fissures definitely have developed in the age-old social harmony and amity among Hindus and Muslim, after the emergence of the AIUDF party in Assam. Sooner the Muslim community realizes this fact, the better it would be for them. For peace and tranquility and development of a State/country, communal parties of any hue always stand as stumbling block.

Cybercrime: A
serious problem
I recently did a presentation on the topic: 'Cybercrime in Assam', and I got to know how it is a serious problem in Assam. I visited the Panbazar Police Station where I got to know that they basically have most cases regarding phishing sites and financial fraud cases. This phishing sites imitated reputed companies such HP Petroleum, OLX, Dominoes and renowned sweet shops of Guwahati. The cybercrime cases rose after the COVID-19 pandemic, as I got to know while preparing my research paper. I also got know that in most cases, cybercrimes are committed to take revenge on others.
