A new era of Assamese music

Assamese songs and music have a glorious past. Many legendary figures contributed a lot to the Assamese song industry. Mainly Dr Bhupen Hazarika played Assamese songs in a wide view and a multidimensional range. He brought Assamese songs into the world platform. His songs always vibrate in every Assamese people's heart. Nirmalprabha Bordoloi, Charu Gohain, Hiren Gohain and many more legendary songwriters gave a huge contribution to this field. But after this golden era of Assamese songs, some songs with irritating and irrelevant lyrics came to the Industry. These types of songs imposed a bad impact on the Assamese songs. Some meaningless songs tried to vanish and distort the glorious past of the Assamese songs. But nowadays, many youths reject these types of songs. Some youngsters named Sannidhya Bhuyan, Shankuraj Konwar, Maitryee Patar have tried to give a new taste with their new songs to the Assamese people which are very appreciable and heart-rendering. With EDM vibes and standard lyrics, they have been trying to create a new era of Assamese songs. As a youngster, I also use to listen to their songs. I, with many youngsters, wish that they would bring again a new golden era of Assamese music.

True colour revealed

After the abrogation of Article 370 and the Taliban taking over of Afghanistan, the true colour of many eminent and distinguished persons has been revealed. Ex-Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti threatened the Union government by giving the example of the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan. Another former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah said that he hopes Article 370 will be restored with the support of China. Ladakh councillor Zakir Hussain whose tape got leaked recently where he glorified the Chinese Army and said that China will divide Ladakh into 1000 parts. Those who spent all of 2019-20 calling the CAA communal are now busy asking others to pray for Afghanistan, but they consumed 'fevicol' when Mamata Banerjee's imported goons created havoc among the innocent and original Hindu people immediately after the declaration of West Bengal poll verdict. In the coming days, more colours of the 'secularist brigade' will be revealed. Already, our state has witnessed how a fanatic and radicalized community has dared to openly support the Taliban, and importantly all these are educated public. Uniform Civil Code is need of the hour in the country.

The PMO cannot remain mum over the statements of Farooq Abdullah and more importantly Mehbooba Mufti's one because it is a direct cause of treason.

Ban of plastic bags

I write to your esteemed self to express my deep concern about the menace of plastic bags. Plastic bags have wreaked catastrophic havoc in our country.

A walk along any river, lake and beach is sufficient to know the consequences of this ubiquitous ugliness floating. Scientists in their research have found plastic to be much more toxic than previously expected. Plastic is making our environment highly toxic.

The state of the water bodies in the city is pathetic. The aquatic life has been chocked to death. These water bodies have become the stinking, rotting places that are the breeding grounds of many diseases.

We must dare to clear the clatter we see. We must try to do all that we can to wipe a tear, to plant a tree, to resist the temptation of littering the roads, to follow all the traffic rules, treat all the toxic smoke and effluents before releasing them into the environment. As our environment is so polluted by everything if all of us take careful actions ensuring all's welfare, then all the ills in the world will disappear. If we put it off till another day, maybe that day will never come! It has already been delayed.

So let us make our environment safe and be safe and appeal to the people and concerned authorities to look into the matter and ban plastic bags by replacing plastic bags with environmentally friendly materials. So, let us join our hands to fight this menace and preserve our beautiful environment. We must stop using plastic altogether.

Sarfaroosi?

In Bollywood, we had and have several famous heroes and villains who once ruled the silver screen. They very deservingly earned adorations and respect from the nation's cine-goers and some of them were treated as demigods. The government has also honoured them accordingly.

These demigods of Bollywood achieved everything from the nation and were proud Indians. But unfortunately, there are a few who think otherwise like Nasiruddin Shah, Amir Khan, Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Sabana Azmi to name a few who despite achieving everything from the nation feels insecure and frustrated and seem to have a second opinion about the nation where they are earning their livelihood and fame. Their bodies are in India, but the souls are in Pakistan, our sworn enemy. The recent war of words between Nasiruddin Shah and Anupam Kher is a pointer in this direction where the above-mentioned artistes' real image and patriotism are fully exposed. If those mentioned stars of Bollywood are not comfortable in India, they are most welcome to migrate to Pakistan. The expenses in this regard will be borne by the loyal moviegoers of the nation.

JAI HIND.
