College teacher of lustful character

Some college teachers sometimes bring unwanted panic into the minds of students. This is especially true for students of Zoology and Botany in undergraduate major courses. This is because the students studying in these two subjects will visit some of the out-of-state Zoological and Botanical gardens once in the fourth and fifth semesters to prepare the excursion report included in the syllabus. It is pertinent to note that such educational excursions of students are carried out only under the supervision of departmental teachers without parental company.

Teachers who possess lustful character take full advantage of this. This is evidenced by the fact that in some colleges, female students have been sexually abused by teachers. Sometimes these shameless incidents appear on the front page of the daily newspaper and are spread in the electronic media as breaking news. This kind of shameless incident is happening in many colleges. Some of it catches the public eye and some don't. It is unfortunate that lustful college teachers sexually abuse female students by taking full advantage of their helplessness during excursions. We can hear such allegations from the mouth of the victim. In fact, many do not disclose embarrassing facts. On the other hand, in order to conceal such a shameless incident, the accused lustful teachers threaten the aggrieved students about the number to be given in the internal assessment (in practical) of the above subject. This is not the end of the lustful character of college teachers. Opportunity seekers secretly offer tuition to beautiful female students! Even though the female students do not want the phone number, it is observed that the students are being pressured by the teachers of that lustful character to take their phone number. Sometimes the temptation to give higher marks in practical shows the obscene proposal. As revealed in the secret source. However, no one wants to hear such unexpected and unfortunate complaints, of course. Therefore, the general public is disappointed and shocked. It has been observed that some parents are reluctant to admit their children to the above-mentioned courses for the teachers who are polluting the educational environment.

Distant thunder?

This letter has a reference to the front-page sensational news in The Sentinel on 28th September 2021, where it reported that 30 lakh acres of government land are under encroachment. Nobody can question the authenticity of the report as so far THE SENTINEL has never erred in reporting facts. I, as a bona fide Asomiya, simply challenge APCC president Bhupen Bora to verify the facts about the news and let us know why it started happening during their reign for almost seven decades. Does Bora have the guts to tear his shirt before us as a mark of protest for this massive encroachment by people whom he champions' even at the cost of the nation and state's security and integrity? If these things go on uninterrupted, the whole Assam will be converted into another Bangladesh and the natives of the state will have to face the same fate of the Kashmiri Pundits. It is a distant rumbling of thunder for us.

Mr Bora, you are onboard the sinking Titanic. Act while the going is good for you. Should we remind you about the plight of your counterpart in Punjab and SIDHU?

Lanu Dutt Chowdhury,

Asom.

Not acceptable

The minority leaders of Congress, particularly from lower Assam and southern Assam, have made it a habit to insult Axomiya indigenous people from time to time. AIUDF leaders are also no exception, but we all know that AIUDF is purposefully born to safeguards immigrant Muslims. They got confined to the constituencies where their people are the majority. Baghbor MLA Sherman Ali, who some years ago proudly claimed that he is originally from Bangladesh and his mother tongue is Bengali, is back in news. This time he has insulted the martyrs of Assam Agitation by calling them 'mass murderers'. Can we tolerate such insults to the martyrs? A few months back, he demanded a 'Miya Museum' in Sankardev Kalakhetra. Where is Bhupen Bora? Will he dismiss Sherman Ali from his party or will act as 'deaf and dumb because of his appeasement policy. A week ago, Bhupen Bora tore his shirt while protesting against Gorukhuti eviction to please his most trusted and loyal voters. Please remember that 855 martyrs of Assam Andolan are not people of BJP or AGP or AASU, but are heroes and pride who sacrificed their lives for our tomorrow. While continuously worshipping and pleasing immigrant Muslims the indigenous leaders of Congress like Bhupen Bora, Rana Goswami, Debabrat Saikia, Ripun Bora, Mira Borthakur, Apurba Bhattacharjee and others have failed to feel pain, insults and problems of the indigenous people. Wake up and rise above narrow politics my brothers and sisters within the Congress party. Read the sinister designs of these people otherwise our culture, language, customs and traditions will be lost in coming years.

Issuing credit cards

It refers to a miscreant (Devesh Rana) having given my mobile number and email ID (old) either as of his own or as of someone referring for issuing him a credit card. Already I lodged a strong complaint with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) against Indusind Bank for making me harassing calls from various mobile and landline calls trying to force me to accept friendship with the miscreant and make payment for credit-card dues of the miscreant. But the RBI simply fulfilled the formality to close the complaint by enclosing a regret letter from Indusind Bank without ensuring adequate compensation and heavy penalty on Indusind Bank firstly to cause me great embarrassment, mental agony and insult amongst important personalities when the calls came. However, I will continue to pursue my complaint through the Right-To-Information Act.

Now I received similar mobile calls in respect of the same miscreant from SBI cards. Twin-example may be followed by more some of this kind, establish that banks in order of business-development issue credit-cards without proper verification not only causing big harassment to unconcerned ones but also putting public-money at high risk hard to be recovered. The RBI should issue a stern public warning to banks issuing credit cards without proper verification of card-holder or names given as reference persons by applicants of credit cards clearly specifying the amount of penalty to be imposed on the issue of credit cards without proper verification.

SC on 'growing trend'

"When you (police officer) are too close to the government, a day will come when you will be on the other side and will have to pay for your actions," Chief Justice of India NV Ramana observed. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana was emphatic that such police officers should not expect mercy from a court of law if they choose to align themselves with a particular party in power.

Police officers who do the bidding of a government have to "payback with interest" when the political regime changes, cautioned the Supreme Court on Monday as it took a grim view of the "growing trend". A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana was emphatic that such police officers should not expect mercy from a court of law if they choose to align themselves with a particular party in power.

"When you (police officer) are too close to the government, a day will come when you will be on the other side and will have to pay for your actions. When you are good with a government, you may extract money, benefits and all...then you have to pay back with interest when the government changes," remarked the bench, which also comprised justices, Surya Kant and Hima Kohli.
