Height of man’s cruelty to animals
It is heartbreaking to witness how far some humans can go in inflicting pain upon innocent creatures. Recently, a disturbing visual aired on a local television channel showed a grievously injured elephant being forced to walk nearly 95 kilometres, from Arunachal Pradesh to Tinsukia, Assam. The sight was nothing short of harrowing. My heart ached, and my eyes welled up watching the poor animal limp along, burdened not only by his injury but also by human apathy.
According to reports, the elephant sustained a serious leg fracture when a heavy log fell on him during logging work. Experts advised the owner to transport the elephant by truck to Tinsukia or Dibrugarh for immediate medical attention. Shockingly, that advice was ignored. Instead, the injured animal was made to walk the entire distance, a journey that must have been agonising beyond words.
What was even more distressing was to see the mahout—the elephant’s caretaker—riding on the elephant’s back as it struggled to walk. It defies reason, empathy, and basic decency. How can someone be so heartless? Is this the way we repay the loyalty and service of a voiceless creature that has served us with unwavering strength?
One cannot help but question—do the owner and the mahout qualify to be called human when their actions are devoid of humanity? Where do they stand in the eyes of the law? If we, as a society, tolerate such acts of cruelty, what does that say about us?
I strongly believe that stringent punishment must be imposed on both individuals involved. Let this case not be buried under apathy. Let it be a reminder that animals, too, have rights—and that we, as custodians of this planet, must speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

True Indian?
In a recent development, Rahul Gandhi, LOP, made a comment on social media that 2000 sq. km. of land have been captured by the Chinese army. Along with this, he also said that 20 Indian soldiers were killed by the Chinese and many Indian soldiers were badly thrashed by the Chinese in Arunachal Pradesh. In this regard, the SC had to rap Rahul Gandhi because no Indian can pass such statements in the social media without any evidence. The SC has also opined that no true Indian will behave the way Rahul Gandhi is behaving, that too, being in the position of LOP. But the million-dollar question for every Indian is, ‘Is Rahul a true Indian?’ The answer is simply a big NO. India-baiting has become his habit, whether in India or abroad. Rahul Gandhi is a selfish rogue Indian, apart from being a seasoned liar, as evidenced by his baseless allegations against the Indian Army, the Election Commission of India and Lt Arun Jaitley.
The nation is cursed to have an LOP named Rahul Gandhi.
