Ugliest scene

I am a proud INDIAN citizen who has seen many ups and downs of governments at the Centre. I also saw many constructive and memorial debates in both the Houses of Parliament, also known as the temple of democracy. In the ensuing debates, both the ruling and opposition parties were at their best to prove their points with facts and figures showing the utmost respect to the chair without calling anybody by name. We still remember Lt. Pandit Nehru, the then PM of the nation openly praising the opposition leader like Lt. Atal Behari Vajpayee on the floor of the House for his memorable speech that we still fondly remember. But now? With utmost regret, I beg to admit that in recent times we are unfortunate to witness ugly scenes of unruly lawmakers behaving like a street goon that makes every sane Indian hang their heads in utmost shame and despair. I was a tax-paying law-abiding citizen of the nation who fervently appeal to my countrymen to think twice before casting their valuable votes.

Else there will be darkness everywhere. JAI HIND.

Remembering
the heroes

Recently I watched the film "Shershah" where Siddharth Malhotra has done a very decent job as Param Vir Chakra winner Capt Vikram Batra. The war film "Border" has set the benchmark so high that no war film has even come close to the Sunny Deol starrer. But among all the war films made after Border, Shershah has managed to get some very positive remarks. But looking at the fact that Shershah is a biopic and not a full-fledged war film it has done a very good job. There was another hero from the Northeast too who had a very crucial role in the Kargil war, he is Vir Chakra awardee Capt Jintu Gogoi who displayed exemplary courage and was able to take hold of Jubar Top which was a very important point as it was very close to the national highway which connected Srinagar to Leh. After being surrounded by enemy soldiers he was asked to surrender but Capt. Gogoi was a soldier of unfathomable courage, he ran towards the enemy base roaring the regimental war cry "Badri Vishal Lal Ki Jai" (Victory to the sons of Lord Badrinath) killing two enemy soldiers but the machine gun bullets weighed heavier than his assault rifle. His body was later found just 150 metres from Jubar Top. This operation paved way for further successes. Capt Jintu is just an example, many brave soldiers from the Northeast sacrificed their lives for the motherland but they do not receive the same limelight as the soldiers of the other parts of India. I hope the northeastern heroes also find space in the hearts of the people of mainland India.

The Assam Cattle

Preservation Bill

The Assam Assembly passed the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill 2021 on 13 August 2021 amid protests from opposition party members. The bill aimed at regulating slaughter, consumption and transportation of cattle. The opposition parties demanded that the bill should be sent to the select committee of the Assembly, but the ruling party members wanted the passage of the bill. When Speaker Biswajit Daimary announced that the bill has been passed, the BJP members shouting slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Shree Ram. Now let's see what change will this bill carry on but on the other hand, the opposition parties already mentioned that the bill would affect people's rights, several areas where minority communities eat beef and it also reflects religious sentiments of a particular community.

Physical instructor

in high school

There are over 4,000 high schools in Assam. But unfortunately against this number of schools, there are only 346 physical instructors and 15 coaches. It is also seen that one physical instructor has to render his service to more than one or two schools. The primary duty of a physical instructor is to find out the sports talent amongst the students and make them prepare for the school level or district level various sports competitions. But how can one physical instructor give his best to two-three schools? In India or Assam, it is now evident that most of the sports talent have come out from rural places. There is no basic sports infrastructure in rural areas and therefore a school is the only place where the students expose their sports talent. Moreover, sports are just for a namesake in the school curriculum; but in practice, it is useless as there is no availability of sports teachers. The concept of "games and sports can be a career" is not familiar amongst the students and amongst the guardians also. The government's policy is also confined to only felicitations. So, it is the right time that the government should frame a practical roadmap to inspire students to take games and sports as a career. They should show goodwill by appointing a physical instructor in each government school to bring out the talents towards the state or the national level.

Mission Chariali

Overbridge tragedy

Now, we are at the edge of modernization where every object changes itself to a modern and highly sophisticated one. We need change, we need a very sophisticated life.

But in search of highly sophisticated life and amenities, we never bother to step back to forget our mother nature. Whenever I go through Mission Charlie, Tezpur via NH-15 my heart melted with numb pain after witnessing the over bridge construction scenario. Since my childhood I have been experiencing many beautiful natural sceneries along with several giant and ancient trees by this road. But now, in the name of construction of the projected flyover many trees have been felled by the authorities. It will cause a very bad impact on biodiversity and the people of this area.

UP Model

When Yogi Adityanath took over as Chief Minister of the country's largest state, he had a lot of mess to clear which were piled by Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav over the years of misrule. The criminals were entirely running the show in the state without caring little about police, law or administration. After assuming the CM post, he gave clear instructions to the Police force to wipe out the criminals and also asked the police officers to be assertive and aggressive so that any criminal think thousand times before committing any crime. This has resulted in the crime graph going down in the state and the citizens could lead a dignified and fearless life. Our CM too seems to be following the Yogi model or UP model in dealing with the criminals. Since his takeover as CM, he has given free hand to the Police department to go hard on the criminals as the results are out for everyone to see. Now, people respect policemen which was not the case earlier and also from petty criminals to hardcore ones fear police like anything.

The government must carry on this drive for a longer period. If criminals have field day even after we have police force, then God saves the King.
