Worldwide social media down

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to showcase yesterday's server down problem faced by the world. Most of the countries like India had undergone it. It caused clamour among the users. While other than these three apps, others are performing normally. Is this a sign of a server attack? At present, the exact reason is not declared.

Grappling with encroachment

The ongoing eviction drive to free the encroached lands from encroachers has been long overdue as the successive Governments were dragging their feet to save these prime lands from the clutches of illegal occupants. Due to prolonged procrastination, it has become an uphill task, yet the Government has to accomplish this momentous work with equal firmness and perseverance. But delay in final updating of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is tantamount to negate results of eviction drive, as there are fresh reports of encroachment by the evictees from various places of the state. Apprehension has been raised in many quarters that most of the encroachers were of doubtful citizenship. The state must determine the citizenship of the evicted people to segregate bona fide citizens and non-citizens for which the finalization of NRC has assumed utmost importance. Once the NRC is finalized the State Government shall initiate action as mandated by law and Assam Accord; otherwise the situation will be back to square one. Yours etc.

Unwanted floods in Guwahati

Guwahati is called the entrance of the entire Northeast. It has been playing a great role in every sector over the years. The government is also trying to make it a smart city. The government has geared up many large projects in the city. I have been here for some days. I have noticed that a single rainfall creates havoc in Guwahati. Many subways, bye-lanes under Guwahati Municipal Corporation get inundated by floodwaters. Due to the lack of scientific construction and proper drainage systems, floods occur every year in the city. I, therefore, urge the government and the GMC to take necessary actions.

Lesson to be learned from 'server down'!

The new week starts on Monday after the weekly holiday on Sunday. In this, every day is very important in terms of job - business. WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram the social media apps were down for a while due to a technical glitch (server down) from 9.30 pm on Monday. It was 4.45 in the morning to undo it. All three apps were not running on both the web and smartphones. It hit the world. In all these cases, the engineers must work hard to solve this technical problem. There was pressure from all over the world, not just one place to start the service. In such a difficult situation, it is worth learning to work with patience.

According to 'Whistleblower', Marcus Zuckerberg was hit with 600 million due to the problem of these three services. Zuckerberg has apologized for the inconvenience. The use of WhatsApp is invaluable in terms of job - business. Facebook and Instagram are not used to send 'important working messages'. Personal things are predominant. E.g. photos like a trip, what was bought new, what was made etc., are posted. As a result, the working class did not feel that the service of those two apps was disrupted. But since the message was not going through WhatsApp, there was a commotion. If the same obstacle had been created in the morning session, there would have been a terrible season. Many have breathed a sigh of relief as the technical problem occurred at night. WhatsApp has become 'oxygen'. If anyone doesn't get it, he will get restless. It was night in India when the problem arose. But in some countries of the world, it was working time. In India, Facebook has more than 410 million users and WhatsApp has more than 530 million users. Instagram has over 210 million users in India. India is a huge market for these three social media platforms.

The trend started immediately on Twitter. It rained a torrent of mimes. Many also said that they used the Telegram app during this period. Everyone should have some optional apps. This must have been noticed by many at this time. Learning from this, they may have overcome the problem by downloading the necessary apps. Even so, why dig a well when you are thirsty? Without relying 100% on the service of a single company. We should also have alternative routes (apps). So that you don't have to face the same problem as others. It taught yesterday's case.
