The posts of M Phil degree holders, who have been working as assistant professors in various provincialized colleges in Assam, have not been provincialized under the Assam Venture Education Institutions (Provincialization of Services) Act, 2011 and amended in 2012 and 2013.

In this connection I did file a prayer before the Prime Minister's Office on behalf of Mrs. Jahnabi Sarmah, an Assistant Professor working in a college at Ledo with M. Phil degree, on July 17, 2019. I have great faith on our Prime Minister and his noble office.

Now as per government notification (AHE 394/2010/20, dated 01/01/2011) that all candidates having M Phi degrees on or before July 10, 2009 shall remain exempted from the requirement of NET for the purpose of appointment as lecturers/assistant professors.

Now, my submission before the Education Minister of Assam is that those assistant professors are still deprived under the said Act. Please give them justice under the provincalization Act. It is empirical evidence that when colleges were provincialized under the said Act, M Phil degree was considered as voidable. So, they and their family members are waiting for your early pronouncement in favour of them. It is our firm belief on you that you will do them justice, and I have never seen that you have deprived any one or anybody.
