Bollywood producer-director Karan Johar responded appropriately to a troll who labeled him ‘Nepo child ka daijaan (nanny or caregiver)’ after he praised Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s debut movie “Saiyaara”. The movie has already taken the box office by storm, with a total collection now standing at Rs 83 crore in its first weekend. Three days after the film’s release, on July 21, Karan commended the starring pair’s performances and complimented the film’s creators on Saiyaara’s box office success. But as soon as he shared the post, netizens were quick to troll him in the comment section. One post read, “Aa gaya nepo kid ka daijaan.” Karan - upon seeing the comment - instantly gave a befitting reply. He wrote, “@sometimesasil chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithee negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar (Shut up!!! Don’t sit at home nurturing negativity! See the work of the two kids and do some work yourself).” Karan also shared a heartfelt note on Mohit Suri’s film Saiyaara. His note read, “I don’t remember the last time I felt like this after watching a film …. Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy… Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love…” The post further read, “Proudest that my Alma mater @yrf has bought love back!!! Back to the movies …. Back to our Industry…. Adi I love you and feel so proud to say that I am a YRF student for life! @awidhani what a debut as producer!!! That ball is now officially out of the park! Congratulations.”

Director Mohit Suri’s storytelling, skill, and “magnificent” use of music, according to Karan, have left him speechless.

Karan Johar also praised the debutantes Ahaan and Aneet. He wrote, “What a debut @ahaanpandayy !!!! You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker… your eyes spoke volumes and I can’t wait to see your journey ahead…” His post further read, “You are spectacular!!!! Welcome to the movies !!! @aneetpadda_ you gorgeous girl… how lovely and amazing are you!!! Your silences spoke volumes and your vulnerability and strength moved me to tears….
