The legendary actor Irrfan Khan was born on this day and today 7 January 2021 marks his 55th birth anniversary. His wife Sutapa Sikdar recalls the best moments spent with her husband by sharing some of the rare pictures on social media.

Sutupa also recalls the night before she lost her husband when she along with her friends sang a song for Irrfan. She shared that during that time he was not conscious but tears were rolling down his face.

Late actor Irrfan Khan has made a great impact in the world of movies with his diverse performances throughout the three decades of his acting career. Apart from his predominant appearance in Bollywood the versatile actor is also known for his acting in American and British movies.

Irrfan Khan was born on 7 January 1967 in Tonk of Rajasthan and took his last breath on 29 April 2020 in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute, Mumbai. He was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour and passed away at the age of 53 after fighting a colon infection.

The sudden demise of such a talented actor brought shock in the world of cinemas and it was the saddest moment in the history of Bollywood. Irrfan got married to actress and writer Sutapa Sikdar in the year 1995 and had two children named Ayan Khan and Babil Khan. He had done his masters from Jaipur and then in the year1984, he joined The National School of Drama in New Delhi. Irrfan has won many accolades including 6 Filmfare awards, National Film Award, Asian Film Award and also the highest civilian honour Padma Shri.

The actor is still alive in the hearts of millions for the super hit movies that he delivered during his lifetime. He is also remembered for some of the iconic dialogues in movies like D Day, Life in Metro, Life of Pi, Chocolate, Jazba, The Killer, Angrezi Medium, Khoon Maaf and The Namesake.

Some of his exceptional work in Bollywood include Haider (2014) directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Lunch Box (2013) directed by Ritesh Batra and Paan Singh Tomar (2012) directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Irrfan made his fame in Hollywood with acting in films that include 'The Amazing Spider-Man' film series directed by Sam Raimi and Marc Webb, 'Inferno' 2016 mystery thriller directed by Ron Howard, and 'Jurassic Worlds' 2015 science fiction directed by Colin Trevorrow. He also worked in one of the most popular English adventure drama films of 2012 named 'Life of Pi' directed by Ang Lee.
