‘Jaat’ box office collection day 1: Sunny Deol’s film delivers a blow to ‘Sikandar’

Bollywood movies are struggling to clock in good box office numbers. Post pandemic, there have been many big-budget movies with superstars that have tanked miserably. The latest movie that fans had high hopes from was Salman Khan’s film “Sikandar”. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar was termed as the perfect masala entertainer. It also featured popular star Rashmika Mandanna in a key role. However, the box office numbers did not live up to the hype. Salman Khan’s movie took a flying start at the box office but witnessed a downward trend over days. Now, with Sunny Deol’s movie Jaat making it to the theatres, Sikandar has faced stiff competition. As per Sacnilk.com, the earnings of Salman Khan’s movie have fallen under the mark of Rs 1 crore. On day 12, it has made only Rs 75 lakh as per the report. These are early estimates, nonetheless, the numbers are shocking. Sunny Deol’s “Jaat” seems to have swept away “Sikandar”. The total collection of Sikandar now stands at Rs 107.85 crore. On day 11, Sikandar registered box office earnings of Rs 1.35 crore. On day 10, the number was Rs 1.5 crore. On day 9, Sikandar earned around Rs 1.75 crore. The film has witnessed a gradual decline over days. However, it saw a massive dip post the release of Sunny Deol’s Jaat.

 Talking about Jaat, Sunny Deol’s film has recorded a decent start a the box office. The movie - which also stars Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh - made around Rs 9.50 crore on day one. The numbers didn’t match with “Sikandar”’s opening day business. However, it definitely had an impact on day 12 business of Salman Khan’s movie. “Jaat” has received positive reviews from viewers and critics alike.
