James: "TheName's Bond. James Bond".

A lifetime of being shaken and stirred by Sir Sean Connery. A Tribute.

Of the outpouring tributes, "our strongest Bonds were formed by him and he was Untouchable", made me choke on the veritable nature of the words. In life, Sir Sean Connery, was both my martini and scotch and raising a toast is not a humble task for the lone actor in me.Finding words that can describe this 'Cold War Dinosaur' and the bond he shared with the world, made his own famous introduction comparable to Ceasar's 'Vini, Vedi, Vici', for who can forget that!

I will say this (and this is my tribute!), I was 16. He was Bond. I wanted to rename my scrambling hormones, 'Sean'! Through four decades and some, I have carried these hormones insides of me and will continue for as long as his cocked eyebrow and genius macho image of haywire mega proportions continue to flash and burn in memory. Fleming's character role belonged to Sir Connery. His Austin Martin was the model the world praised for speed and all you – could- do- with – a -press of a thumb', the Sean in and as Bond, were one even in God's own image.

Clarity aside, the fantasy was provocative to deadly scenarios and action, unparalleled to that of any Marvel hero, in my mind, for he was real in flesh and blood and that accent pierced deeper than any sabre or sword held by Vader, Arthur or Luke Skywalker. 'Sean Bond' held his number, on his own, by and to himself from 1 to 007 like no other. With a license to kill and operating skills, his charm and flamboyance was 'toil and trouble' for womankind and always will be. If only you could understand the 'Sean Bond Hormones' in my insides as I write!

Taking a trip backwards on the 7 Bond films that carried his name, wonder how many of you can rattle it off and feel the high? It was fate that walked the side of this Edinburg lad to his last Bond film, "Never say Never Again", before he moved his name to new characters, never looking back at Bond again. It was fate that took him from being a milk boy to a coffin polisher to a footballer to playing in 'Dr. No' and the first to utter those famous words of introduction. The "Did you Know?' and trivia questions are flooding in, so backwards to the' Sean Bond 7' and they are? Here it is, "Never Say Never Again", "Diamonds Are Forever", "YouOnly Live Twice", "Thunderball", "Goldfinger", "From Russia With Love", and " Dr. No"! And the year of release? Look it up. For you to answer and me to know.

In my backyard in Washington D.C, is the new International Spy Museum, a true 'Wow Tribute' to the spies of our time and Bond, of course. The Aston Martin original DB5 with license plate JB007 is displayed to all drooling eyes in all its restored splendor and ironically in the gallery of the Bond Villains is a huge sign that says,' Time to Die, Mr. Bond '. Is it ever? For Sir Sean Connery, it is 'Bond Forever' and the new in the virus canned film, "No Time to Die" rings true yet, a full life he did lead. Speaking of choices, he chose acting over kicking ball, as it had a longer shelf life than a retirement at 30, as is with most sportsmen. The choice he made, according to him, was the best. That he was amongst 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", his last film released in 2003, was another good choice and true to caliber.Sir Sean Connery is entitled to that league and so rightfully knighted. It is not the fan in me that speaks or writes, but one that worships this knight in shining armor for all that fire he ignited within, 'with him'!

Tonight, I continue the re-runs of the Bond action and martinis, shaken and stirred, engulfed, and devoured, in fantasy and reality to the feelings churned. I will be 16 again with the sacred Scot and my hormones are a scramble as I switch onto watch "To Scotland with Love". Oops, did I say that wrong? Might as well be.
