Kareena Kapoor Khan comes out in support of Bollywood amid portrayal as 'murky den of substance abuse'

Kareena Kapoor Khan has responded to the statement by the Producers Guild of India which addressed the ' relentless attacks' on the Indian film world

Guwahati: At a time when the Bollywood film industry is facing immense scrutiny following the death of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Producers Guild of India gave an open statement on media highlighting "relentless attacks " on the reputation of the Indian film industry.

The famous Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has responded to the statement released by the Producers Guild on September 5.

Writing an open letter, the Producers Guild has objected to the portrayal of the Indian film world as a 'murky den of substance abuse'.

Taking cognizance of the letter, Kareena Kapoor Khan has also taken the side of the premier film, television, and digital content producers' body.

Taking to Instagram, Kareena expanded her support and shared the statement of the Producers Guild with her fans.

"With my industry," Kareena wrote in her Instagram story while re-sharing the post which was earlier shared by acclaimed producer Zoya Akhtar.

The producers Guild of India stated that the tragic death of Sushant has been used as a tool to defame and slander the Indian film industry.

"A picture has been painted of the industry as a terrible place for outsiders to aspire to; a place that treats those who dare to enter it with contempt and derision; a murky den of substance abuse and criminality. This narrative is salacious enough for the media to exploit to great effect in order to boost its ratings, readership and page views," read the letter.

The response from the apex organization has come after sections of the Bollywood film industry were criticized amid the ongoing Central Bureau (CBI) of Investigation probe into the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput
