Good news for all the fans of Keanu Reeves as the fourth instalment of Matrix 4- 'The Matrix Resurrections' is all set to release on December 22, 2021, at a theatre near to you.

For the fans of the Matrix series, it was a hard time because owing to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the fourth instalment of the sci-fi.

The Matrix 4 was officially announced in August 2019 with Lana Wachowski writing and directing the new movie. Lilly Wachowski didn't return as she felt she needed a break and thought the idea of returning to the franchise was "expressly unappealing".

The Matrix 4 cast: Who is in The Matrix Resurrections?

The matrix 4 casts will feature, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are back, but Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving probably won't be in the upcoming feature. Further, the deadly duo will be joined by Daniel Bernhardt who's reprising his role as Agent Johnson and Jada Pinkett Smith is back as Niobe, who she played in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

The most surprise will be with the new addition to the cast is Aquaman and Watchmen star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

In the trailer, he's said to look a lot like Morpheus and even offers Neo the red pill, although there's still no official confirmation he actually is Morpheus.

In the first teaser, Keanu Reeves' Neo is back inside the Matrix, taking blue pills and seeing a therapist played by Neil Patrick Harris until a man portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II steps into Neo's life and gets him to see that his reality is just a mirage.

The film also stars Jessica Henwick (TV's "Iron Fist," "Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens"), Jonathan Groff ("Hamilton," TV's "Mindhunter"), Neil Patrick Harris ("Gone Girl"), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (TV's "Quantico,"), Christina Ricci (TV's "Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story," "The Lizzie Borden Chronicles"), Telma Hopkins (TV's "Dead to Me,"), Eréndira Ibarra (series "Sense8," "Ingobernable"), Toby Onwumere (TV's "Empire"), Max Riemelt (series "Sense8"), Brian J. Smith (series "Sense8," "Treadstone"), and Jada Pinkett Smith ("Angel Has Fallen," TV's "Gotham").

The Matrix Resurrections is out December 22 in cinemas worldwide. In the US, it will also be available on day one on HBO Max (for the first month after release) at no additional cost. In India, the fourth Matrix movie will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Notably, behind the scenes, Lana Wachowski — one half of the Wachowskis, who helmed the first three movies, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions — returns as a director on The Matrix Resurrections.

Meanwhile, the official trailer of the sci-fi cult was released just 20 mins back and it has already garnered a viewership of more that 685,463 views.
