Diljit Dosanjh is currently the hot topic of discussion. The actor-singer is at the centre of major controversy surrounding his upcoming film “Sardaar Ji 3”. The film also stars Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Diljit is receiving heavy backlash for collaborating with Hania following the Pahalgam Terror Attack. Many of the celebrities too slammed Diljit Dosanjh for the same. Mika Singh, Ashoke Pandit and others objected to Diljit’s collaboration with Pakistani artist Hania. Now, singer Jasbir Jassi has come out in support of the Chamkila star.

In a chat with entertainment news section of NDTV, Jasbir Jassi stated that backlash against Diljit Dosanjh is a sign of ‘double standards’ as there are many songs in Indian films that have been sung by Pakistani artists. He said that he respects people’s sentiments and love for the country, but he also remarked that “80% of the songs of our industry have been stolen, be it their tunes or words or the entire songs. There are so many songs in our films that have been sung by the artists of that country. I don’t want to take names because the list is too long. So, why these double standards?” He further exclaimed “If you want to ban (Pakistani artists), ban them completely. Get all that content available in the world lifted... why are you banning films of one artist at a time?” Diljit Dosanjh’s movie “Sardaar Ji 3” is going to release on June 27. The makers have skipped its India release and it will only hit theatres overseas. The GOAT singer spoke about the controversy in an interview with BBC Asian Network and mentioned that when the film was shot, the situation was normal. He said that the film was shot in February and everything was fine back then. He mentioned that he supports the producers’ decision to not release the film in India. Even though the movie isn’t releasing in India, Diljit Dosanjh is facing the wrath of FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees). The organisation has called for a complete ban of all his upcoming projects and films. In fact, FWICE has also written a letter to the makers of Border 2 to not collaborate with Diljit for the film.
