Washington DC: Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the presidential oath at 8:30 p.m. IST, officially transferring power to Donald Trump, who will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States today at a ceremony in Washington, DC. JD Vance will also take the oath in his position as Vice President.

Following the swearing-in event, Trump will give his inaugural address, during which he is anticipated to discuss urgent issues and lay out his vision for the country.

With a number of world leaders and veterans of industry expected to attend the ceremony, the event is attracting international interest. The dignitaries include former leaders including Brazil's Jair Bolsonaro and Poland's Mateusz Morawiecki, as well as Presidents Javier Milei of Argentina, Giorgia Meloni of Italy, Daniel Noboa of Ecuador, and Nayib Bukele of El Salvador. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent India.
