Fan apologizes for derogatory personal remark on Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed

Guwahati: The India-Pakistan match played in Manchester on June 15 during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup proved India as the winner, but seems it has been much difficult for the Pakistan team fans to digest this result. With every passing day since last Sunday, there has been news of sharp reactions in the form of disappointment, anger, mockery by the Pakistan cricket team fans, either in public or on the social media. Another recent instance of the Pakistan team facing open criticism from a fan is then when the team skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed got mistreated by a man.

One of the fans of the cricket team met the team skipper at a mall in London and could control his anger. The fan confronted Sarfaraz and asked him on the face as to why he’s fat “as a pig.” When the skipper did not reply and chose to walk away, the man followed and kept saying, “you’ve become very fat, like a pig. You should diet less.”

Video footage of the incident has also gone viral with the fan following and criticizing him. However, the video also showed the presence of a little boy which could later be known as the skipper’s son. The video, depicting a fan making a personal attack on the skipper became viral. The person, however, got criticized for such personal remarks on the cricketer. Some of the social media users urged the London police to get hold of the person for the humiliation he created for the cricketer.

The person, however, realized his mistake and deleted the video apologizing for his deeds. He further added that he did not know the boy with Sarfaraz is his son.

Other than the public attacks and condemnations, Pakistan skipper Ahmed is criticized by former player of the team Shoaib Akhtar as well who called him a “brainless captain.”
