Filipino Women Orders Fried Chicken, Received Deep-Fried Towel Instead

Although it seems difficult to believe, a woman who requested delicious fried chicken for her kid at a renowned food place in the Philippines was surprised to receive a deep-fried towel instead.

Alique Perez, the woman, posted some videos and a photograph of the 'wrong order' on her Facebook page. Because of its bizarre nature, it has now gone viral on social media.

Alique Perez was outraged when she saw her deep-fried 'chicken' from Jollibee was actually a hand towel.

"Ordered chicken for my son, while I was trying to get him a bite, I found it super hard to even slice. Tried opening it up with my hands and to my surprise a deep-fried towel. This is really disturbing…. How the hell do you get the towel in the batter and even fry it!?" Perez wrote in the caption of the shared Facebook post. The films show the 'fried chicken' being disassembled to reveal that it is only a towel.

A video she posted on the social media website on Tuesday has received over 2.6 million views. It shows her picking up the 'chicken,' only to find it was a batter-fried towel.

Her post has received over 87,000'shares,' as well as hundreds of stunned comments.

"The batter must have been contaminated too when that towel was breaded. We will never know who got those potentially contaminated chickenjoys that day!" commented a user.

"That's disgusting. Good luck to those who ordered chicken that day," remarked another.

The food company Jollibee Food Corp, on the other hand, investigated the situation quickly and ordered the closure of the outlet in question.

According to Metro News, Jollibee Foods Corp stated that the branch 'deviated' from conventional food preparation procedures and temporarily closed the eatery after the viral post sparked health and hygiene concerns.

The corporation stated that it will retrain personnel to prevent such situations from occurring in the future.
