'New Day for America' Says House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi

Washington: Democrat and House minority leader Nancy Pelosi declared that Wednesday will be a new day for the US as her party retook control of the lower chamber from the Republicans in the mid-term elections. Pelosi insisted that the victory is “more than about Democrats and Republicans. It’s about restoring the Constitution’s checks and balances to the Trump administration”, reports Efe news. “The new Democratic majority will honor the vision of our founders,” said Pelosi in her speech, after rejecting division. “We have all had enough of the division. American people want peace, they want results,” the Californian Democrat said. Pelosi became the first woman in history to lead a major party in Congress. (IANS)
