NEW DELHI: After 8 years of imprisonment, Pakistan has handed over two Indian nationals to Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday at Wagah border.

According to report the two Indian nationals who were arrested due to illegal border crossing were kept in a Pakistani jail.

The Pakistani rangers in 2013 had taken both the Indian nationals who were identified as Sharma Rajput and Ram Bahadur for entering Pakistan's territory at The Line of Control (LOC) from Kashmir.

However, later it was found that the duos are mentally unstable and had crossed the border unintentionally.

The Pakistan officials shared the pictures and credentials of the accused with India and after admitting them as the citizen of India, they were handed over to the BSF on Monday.

Around 19 Indians who were arrested under the Security Act and Secret Services Act of the country and were kept in different jails in Pakistan for alleged spying and illegal border crossing and the cases are still pending with the federal review board.

Their chargers were presented by the federal interior ministry and were produced before the Federal Review Board comprising judges of the Superior Court.

The detention was extended by the board till the decision on their cases are made based on the investigation report of the interior ministry on whether they should be set free or should face trial.

Earlier in 2015, a local court in Tripura sentenced five Bangladeshi men to 28 days of rigorous imprisonment for illegally entering India, an official said. Gomati district police in southern Tripura said in a statement here that on June 25, the five Bangladeshi tribals, aged between 25 and 45, illegally entered Sabroom, a bordering sub-division of southern Tripura. The Border Security Force apprehended the five men, from the Khagrachari district of southeast Bangladesh, and handed them over to the police.
