The book was launched at India International Centre, New Delhi in their Seminar Halls I, II & III on February 22, 2025 in the presence of Chairman, Centre for Social & Economic Progress Mr Vikram Mehta, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture, GOI, Mrs Ranjana Chopra, Founder & CEO, Ladies Who Lead and television journalist, Ms Aabha Bakayaand COO & Director, Niyogi Books, Ms Trisha De Niyogi.
During the event, Mr Vikram Mehta, Chairman, Centre for Social & Economic Progress, noted, “This is a story all of us can relate to, on account of professional, personal or spiritual dilemmas.”
Mrs Ranjana Chopra, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture, GOI, revealed during the book launch, “I found the character Luv in the book, who can also be thought of as the main character’s alter ego, to be the most endearing.”
Towards the end of the event, Ms Aabha Bakaya, Founder & CEO, Ladies Who Lead and television journalist, shared, “Many of the questions that the book brought up leftme thinking long after I finished reading the novel.”
Author of the book Sandeep Khanna, when asked for his comments on the book, says, Tempest on River Silent is inspired by an observation often made in my friends circle - “The change we have experienced in India in our lifetime has been dramatic” The book tries to capture 50 years of cultural and economic change in India, and celebrates the enthralling diversity of Bharat and some other parts of the world, though anecdotes and stories. As my effort moves from an individual mind to the collective custody of society, I do hope some readers at least will like my endeavour.

About the Author
Sandeep Khanna, an alumnus of the Faculty of Management Studies and Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, has held several leadership positions in India and abroad while working with reputable MNCs for three decades. The author currently lives in Delhi- NCR. His interests are in sports, poetry, history and travelling. During his extensive travels—discovering the fascinating socio-cultural diversity of Bharat and the world, as well as the similarities at a human level—the idea of this book came to him.
