The car garage is one of the most neglected factors while constructing a house because mostly it is done after the work is over. A properly planned parking place according to car garage vastu can bring progress while a wrongly constructed garage can spell doom.
The best direction for parking is the northwest. This gives good results for the owner and success in his journeys. Southeast can also be used for parking but make sure that the vehicle does not have a full tank of fuel because basically the southeast is the zone of the fire element and so the risk of fire accidents is increased. The southwest corner or the West or South facing directions are also recommended according to vastu for the best direction for parking.
It is often seen that some people buy a vehicle but hardly use it. They get to travel the least in the vehicle which can be attributed as a Vaastu defect. Vehicles, which are standing still for a long time, tend to get rusty and damaged due to non-movement of engine and suspension parts. Vastu defects like mental stress and loss of finance may come in. A vehicle should be in such a condition so that it is ready to start and move whenever required. A lot of people have to take the car to the workshop for check-up or repairs before undertaking a journey. This can be avoided with Vaastu for parking area.
Few thumb rules
1. The slope of the parking place should be towards north or east.
2. A vehicle should be parked facing the north or east only.
3. If a vehicle breaks down, it should not be left unattended because there is another means of transport. It should be repaired as soon as possible. A damaged car produces Vaastu defects.
4. It is best not to have the garage touching the wall of the main building.
5. There should be enough space around the car when parked inside the garage so that a man can move all round freely.
6. DO NOT have the garage in the northeast corner of the house. It amounts to the closure of the northeast- a gross Vaastu defect.
7. Needless to say that, the approach road leading to the parking must be kept clean so that the car can move in or out freely.
8. A garage should have white, light yellow or green/pink only.
Do’s and don’ts during Holi
We celebrate Holi for two days with friends and family members. But many of us are not aware of the importance of the period before that. This year that period was from February 28 to March 7 and this is called Holashtak or Hola Ashtak. It ended on the day before actual Holi i.e. the night when Holika is burnt. During the time of Holashtak, it is forbidden to undertake any auspicious work or job. People even do not buy new cars or houses. Weddings, Upanayan, Annaprasan, etc., ceremonies are not undertaken in this period.
According to the legend, Lord Shiva was meditating very hard. Kamadeva was sent to break his Tapasya. Kamadeva is the Hindu god of erotic love, desire and pleasure. According to curse, the demon Tarakasura could only be killed by Shiva’s son and he was meditating! Kamdeva created an untimely spring and broke Shiva’s meditation with a flower arrow (Cupid’s arrow?). It was the eighth day of the month of Falguna and when Lord Shiva opened his eyes, his angry look burnt Kamdeva to ashes.
According to astrology, the planetary positions are negative during the eight days of Holashtak. No new ventures or ceremonies are undertaken in this period. Vaastu has suggested certain ways to overcome the negative effects during Holashtak.
1. The child Krishna should be worshipped with fruits, colours, diya and incense. His mantras should be chanted for good luck and happiness in married life.
2. Lord Shiva should be worshipped in particular during the Holashtak. The Mahamrityunjay Mantra should be chanted for good health and freedom from diseases.”Om nahamah shivaye” should be chanted by offering Bel leaves.
3. The Lord Narasimha (Human Lion) should be worshipped during Holashtak after taking a bath for relief from all kinds of trouble.
4. It is auspicious to keep fasts and perform fire worship (havan) during Holashtak
5. Regular chanting of Hanuman Chalisa in these eight days will help in removal of mental and physical problems.
6. Goddess Mahalaxmi should be worshipped during Holashtak . Sri Suktam is recited to bring bliss to the family, to those who recite it with devout intent and discipline
7. Draw swastikas on both sides of the main door with turmeric or sindoor on the first day of Holashtak. This will prevent negative energy from entering the house.
Conclusion
Car garage vastu should not be ignored as it plays a major role in the overall environment of the house. It should be planned at the beginning of thee construction itself to prevent additional costs of remodelling later. Also, there are days, as stated above, when garage construction or repair/remodeling works should be avoided. If urgently required the mentioned ways should be followed to prevent bad vaastu for parking area.
