Guwahati: In the midst of the nationwide uproar against the conduction of the NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 entrance exams, which are being conducted in September, environmental and climate activist Greta Thunberg, voicing her opinion, terming the exams as "unfair."

Taking to social media, the teenaged icon opined that it is unfair for students to appear for exams in the middle of a raging global pandemic.

Greta also mentioned the "extreme floods" in the states of Assam and Bihar which caused massive losses to both life and property and stated that the students of India have been deeply impacted.

Greta Thunberg, weighing in on the conundrum, said that the conduction of exams in the middle of the pandemic is "highly unfair" to the aspiring students.

"It's deeply unfair that the students of India are asked to sit for national exams during the Covid-19 pandemic and while millions have also been impacted by the extreme floods", Great wrote in a tweet.

Greta further wrote that she stands with the call to postpone the NEET and JEE Main 2020 examinations in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many Indian students thanked the Swede for her concern for fellow students in the Indian subcontinent.

Students have been actively protesting the conduction of the NEET and JEE Main 2020 entrances, which are scheduled to be conducted in the first and second week of September. Many students also filed a plea in the Supreme Court to get the exams postponed.

However, the Supreme Court did not rule in their favor, and stated that the exams will be conducted as per schedule. The court also stated that the examinations are "essential" for the future of the students.
