After exposing a significant police-sand mafia connection, a Madhya Pradesh cop commits suicide
According to officials on Thursday, a 51-year-old Madhya Pradesh Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) allegedly committed suicide at his official residence within a police station after accusing his superiors of serious mental abuse.
The victim, Pramod Pavan, 51, was assigned to the Gondan police station in the Datia district of Madhya Pradesh. The cop was found hanging at his government accommodation on July 21.
ASI Pavan, seen in his uniform, made grave accusations of mental harassment, caste-based abuse, and criminal link against senior police officers and local mafia members in a number of films purportedly taken in the hours before his death.
In a July 20 dated video, Pawan accused Tharet station in-charge Anfasul Hasan, Gondan station in-charge Arvind Bhadoria, and constable-driver Roop Narayan Yadav of threatening to kill him and torturing his mind.
Pavan stated in the terrifying video that the officers continuously refused to give him leave, even for critical business, and prevented him from meeting with the Superintendent of Police (SP) to file a complaint.
.
Pavan further alleged that a local sand mafia operator, Bablu Yadav, threatened to kill him with the assistance of the two station in-charges. He claimed that Bablu Yadav threatened to run him over with a tractor and boasted of his protection from senior officers.
