Amitabh Bachchan's Twitter account gets hacked, Pakistan PM's image gets place in profile picture

Mumbai: If you had suddenly reached at a state of shock seeing Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s love for Pakistan and his profile picture is replaced with the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s then don’t worry, this was not done by the senior Bachchan! Not even the megastar knew that some mischievous hackers would hack his twitter account and change his profile picture!

It all happened on Monday night when suddenly, Amitabh Bachchan’s twitter account started showing some unusual activities, right from changing his profile picture to even editing his Twitter biography. His Twitter biography, that usually reads, "Actor... well at least some still saying so!" was changed to "Love Pakistan" followed by some emoticons.

Not only this, the hackers sent three posts from the account. The cyber attack on the Twitter account of the megastar gets proved by a tweet made by them that read: "This is an important call to the whole world! We do condemn the irrespective behaviours of Iceland Republic towards Turkish footballers. We speak softly but carry a big stick and inform you about the big cyber attack here."

Speaking on this matter of cyber attack on the veteran actor’s social media account, a police spokesperson says that that cyber unit and Maharashtra Cyber has been informed of the matter. An Investigation in underway.

With such a big fan following of 37.4 million followers on Twitter, the account is an important platform for the actor where he is seen to have made regular posts. For Mr. Bachchan, the account is like an"extended family" of him.

With cyber crimes and cyber attacks on a rise and hacking the profiles of notable personalities so easily, it seems nothing is secure when it comes to using the internet. It is thus high time, that together with the cybercrime unit, the users too should be responsible and careful towards the safety of their accounts.
