Around 12 Sealed Bottles of Wine Emptied by Rats in an Alcohol Outlet in Tamil Nadu

UDHAGAMANDALAM: In an astonishing event, rats have emptied 12 sealed bottles of wine kept in an administration-run TASMAC alcohol outlet in a town close to Gudalur in the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu. The incident became exposed after TASMAC employees opened the shop at Kadampuzha on Monday, which had been kept shut for quite a while because of the lockdown.

As per the official sources, they found the caps of the 12 quarter alcohol bottles open, with rats' bite marks and wine in them emptied. They said that on being informed, the boss and senior TASMAC authorities did an investigation, which unveiled the presence of rats inside the shop.

It is to be mentioned the cost of the bottles is said to be around Rs 1,500.

Recently, 29,000 liters of alcohol disappeared from 25 out of 30 distinctive police headquarters in Haryana. According to reports, the police force seized around 50,000 liters of country-made alcohol, 30,000 liters of English wine, and 3,000 jars of beer and registered approximately 825 such cases.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has recorded 3,715 positive COVID cases on Monday, bringing the state count to 25,00,002. Among these, Chennai reported 214 positive cases, bringing the city's total to 5,33,637. The state recorded 54 deaths on Monday, putting the state cost at 33,059. 46 of them had succumbed due to comorbidities. An aggregate of 4,029 patients was released after treatment, taking the total number of recoveries to 24,32,017.
