AYODHYA: In a horrific accident in Ayodhya, an Assam man is alleged to have murdered his wife and their three-year-old son before fleeing from the scene, police reports stated on Saturday. The two victims, according to the reports, are Neshiya Begum and her three-year-old son Sahadkar Khandkar. According to the authorities, the woman was said to have been stabbed using a sharp object, while the child was strangulated.
The couple had been residing in the Bachhda Sultanpur area of Kotwali Nagar for the past eight months, working as scrap collectors. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ayodhya, Rajkaran Nayyar, the tragic events unfolded after a domestic argument between the husband and wife late at night. After the fight, the husband reportedly attacked Neshiya, killing her, before fleeing the scene.
The police have sent two squads to arrest the suspect, and more information on the case will come out once he is arrested and questioned. The SSP noted that initial information gathered from the couple's elder son indicated a quarrel preceding the violent incident.
In a separate incident earlier this week, a high-speed dumper collided with multiple vehicles at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya, resulting in one fatality and five injuries. One of the injured, Raja Babu, recounted his escape from the vehicle by jumping out to save his life.
