NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a man dies after his businessman father allegedly sets him on fire during an argument regarding financial matters.

The heartless act of the father was caught on the CCVT footage where he was seen lighting a matchstick and throwing it at his son.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday 1 April in the Valmiki Nagar area of Bengaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Arpit who lived with his father in Bengaluru city. As per reports his father attacked him after he failed to give financial details.

The video of the incident was shared by a Twitter user where Arpit was seen confronting his father and pleading with him for letting him after both indulge in a vocal fight.

The accused father has been identified as Surendra, a businessman from Bengaluru who killed his son mercilessly by setting him ablaze.

As the father-son duo continued to argue later the son was seen coming out of the building followed by Surendra who threw a matchstick of fire at his son.

Soon after this, Arpit was seen running from the incident spot with his clothes on fire trying to secure himself. The victim succumbed to his injuries after his clothes were completely burned and he was admitted to a hospital.

According to reports, the locals of the area attempted to extinguish the fire by pouring water and Arpit was rushed to the Victoria hospital located in the city.

The man has suffered from 60 burn injuries and struggled for his survival in the hospital for 2 days but he died on Thursday 7 April in the hospital during his treatment.

Later the locals lodged a complaint against the accused businessman who had attacked his son and became the reason for his death.

Meanwhile, Surendra has been arrested by the police based on the neighbour's complaint and a thorough investigation has been initiated by the officials.
