Body found on railway track

Bongaigaon, May 16:  An unidentified body was recovered in the railway track between New Bongaigaon and Dangtol railway station in Bongaigaon. A GRP official of New Bongaigaon said that they received a message from the station master of New Bongaigaon at around 7 am on Monday. “Our GRP team immediately rushed to the spot and found the body of a male aged around 55 years on the railway track at railway kilometer 248/1-2. The deceased was wearing a dhoti and a white shirt.  He had injury marks on the head. We suspect that may he have fallen from some train at night. A gamosa was also found near the body. No document was recovered from him for identification and we sent the body for postmortem. After postmortem, we will keep the body for 72 hours so that his family members can collect the body,” the official said.
