CBSE Date Sheet Released: Class 10th, 12th Exams To Be 100% Syllabus Based

GUWAHATI: The date sheet for the 2023 board exams was released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) late on Thursday. The detailed board sheet has been made available at the official CBSE website — cbse.gov.in.

The CBSE board exams 2023 for class 10 will take place between February 15, 2023 and March 21, 2023 according to the official notification. Similarly, class 12 board exams will commence from February 15, 2023 and conclude on April 5, 2023.

The exams will start at 10:30 am. The exams of three hours duration will conclude at 1:30 pm, while those of two hours duration will conclude at 12:30 pm. Most of the exams will be of three hours duration, it is said.

The practical exams have been scheduled to commence from January 2, 2023 and conclude on February 14, 2023, according to the official announcement.

The board will conduct the exam after a gap of two years, and the pattern will be same as the pre-pandemic years. In 2020, due to Covid-19, the board exams were cancelled and candidates were given marks based on alternate assessment criteria. In 2021, the entire academic year was divided into two terms by the board.

Although, the board exams will be conducted by CBSE in a single term, some changes in the exam pattern have been introduced.

This year, competency questions have been introduced, which will comprise at least 40 per cent of questions in the CBSE Class 10 exam and 30 per cent in Class 12 exams in 2023. Multiple format questions such as objective type, constructing response type, assertion and reasoning and case based will be included.

A rationalised syllabus for Class 10, for the academic session 2022-2023, has been released by CBSE. Many important topics from Social Science syllabus have been dropped. Details are available on the board's website.

CBSE has also released the sample question papers for students of classes 10 and 12 for the current academic year 2022-23. The sample papers can now be downloaded from the official CBSE website — cbseacademic.nic.in.
