New Delhi: We all love to relish some lip-smacking Momo's, don't we? Tibetan cuisine has become every foodie's go-to snack and has become one of the most loved street food in India, if not the most.

But, have you ever heard of someone dying because of having Momos. It would certainly seem far-fetched but it indeed has happened.

In a bizarre incident, a 50-year-old man lost his life due to choking on a dumpling or the momo.

The man was believed to have been in an intoxicated state and was enjoying momo's at a roadside shop when he suddenly collapsed on the ground. He was reportedly brought dead to AIIMS in Delhi.

As per the post-mortem report, a momo was found to be stuck at the opening of the man's windpipe, on the basis of which, the doctors came to a conclusion that he died from choking on a momo.

The cause of death has been ascertained as neurogenic cardiac arrest due to choking of momos which were found to be located at the laryngeal inlet.

Following this incident, an advisory has been issued by the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) on the country's beloved snack.

The medical body has advised everyone to 'swallow with care' after the AIIMS forensic experts found the reason behind the death of the man.

Meanwhile, choking refers to a condition where there is an obstruction in the windpipe. Whenever we eat something large, it is advised to chew it properly before swallowing so as to not block the food pipe or the windpipe.
