
NEW DELHI: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 15th edition of Aero India on February 10, 2025, at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. This five-day event is an endeavor to strengthen friendship among nations through shared interests in defense and technology. Singh stated that he was confident that Aero India 2025 would project Indian capabilities in industry and technological advancement while forging partnerships with friendly countries.
The event will bring together government representatives, industry leaders, defense experts, and academics from around the world to promote collaboration beyond mere transactions. Singh noted that India's security and peace are interconnected with global stability, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation.
Highlighting India’s transformation from a developing to a developed nation, Singh pointed out the significant allocation of Rs. 6.81 lakh crore to the Ministry of Defence in the Union Budget 2025-26, underscoring the government’s commitment to the defense sector. He also mentioned the role of private industry in defense production, citing successful collaborations like the joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems and Airbus for C-295 transport aircraft.
Aero India 2025 will feature business days from February 10 to 12, followed by public days on February 13 and 14, showcasing India’s aerospace innovations and facilitating international partnerships. The event includes a range of activities such as seminars, airshows, and exhibitions, reinforcing the government’s vision of a self-reliant India in defense manufacturing.
