Patna: Holi - the festival of colors, has turned into a nightmare for an eight year old girl, who was allegedly gang-raped, assaulted and murdered by three men in Banka district in Bihar.

According to Police, the two accused have been detained while another is still absconding.

The police have said that they detained a suspect, who was believed to be a resident of the same village. They added that the second accused was also arrested while the victim's clothes was recovered after interrogations and raids were carried out.

The police further went on to say that the accused admitted to their crime. They have also revealed that the body was found without clothes outside the village on the evening of March 19. As per reports, the perpetrators abducted, gang-raped, gouged her eyes out, and then dumped her body in a drain.

The police have recovered the girl's blood-stained clothes along with other pieces of evidence from the spot. The dreadful condition of the victim's body imply that the girl was brutally gang-raped, the police said.

On the day of Holi, the minor girl left her house to celebrate the festival with her friends but after some time, she vanished in thin air. The family went to the police station to lodge a missing complaint after they were unable to find her.

Her friends told the family that they were playing near the temple when a red auto-rickshaw abducted the girl and escaped.

"All the accused will be arrested very soon. No one will be spared. The police have registered a case on the written application of the deceased girl's uncle and the body has been sent to Banka for autopsy," Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Premchand Singh said.
