Is Pani puri your favourite snack? Think twice before devouring Pani puri from street vendors
Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Beware of 'Mumbai ke Special Pani Puri Wala'.
Owner of a street stall selling pani puri in Maharashtra's Kolhapur was caught on camera mixing toilet water. This vendor is mostly found near Kolhapur's Rankala Lake.
The cart is named 'Mumbai ke Special Pani Puri Wala', which is usually overcrowded with people demanding for lip-smacking street-side snacks.
In the video, the vendor is caught filling a can with toilet water and then mixing it with pani puri.
After the shocking revelation, local people attacked the food cart and destroyed everything.
Back in 2017, a pani puri vendor in Gujarat named Chetan Nanji Marvadi was sentenced to 6 months' of imprisonment for mixing toilet cleaner in street food.
Another similar incident, a pani puri vendor was caught urinating in the serving vessel. Over 300 stalls selling pani puri were attacked by The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) which led to protests against the pani puri vendor urinating in vessels used for serving to customers.
