ITSSA hopes new government will address problems of indigenous people

KOKRAJHAR, May 25: The Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha, Assam (ITSSA), an association of literary bodies-Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Rabha Sahitya Sabha, Tiwa Sahitya Sabha, Dimasa Sahitya Sabha, Garo SahityaSabha, Karbi Sahitya Sabha, Mising Sahitya Sabha and Deory Sahitya Sabha, has expressed new hope of addressing problems of the indigenous communities of the State from the BJP-led coalition government under the leadership of Sarbanda Sonowal.

In a press statement signed by the leaders of respective literary bodies, it was stated that the Congress in the last 15 years failed to address the problems of the indigenous people of Assam. They said the indigenous communities stood up united for a political change in the State and extended support to the BJP-led government with a view of getting their problems solved in a comprehensive manner. The ITSSA leaders hoped that the new State government led by Sonowal would look after the problems of the indigenous communities of Assam and take necessary measures for protection of the sons of the soil.
