Karnataka CM sleeps on ground in village stay, says "Ready to sleep on the road"

Guwahati: Kicking off his 'Grama Vastavya 2.0'' campaign in Karnataka villages, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has started his work from Gurmitkal in Yadgir district. However, initially, there were rumours of the CM getting 5-star treatment in the village which has been denied by Kumaraswamy right away. He even insisted that if needed he is ready to sleep on the road as well.

Attending a press conference in Chandraki village, the Karnataka CM cleared all clouds of doubts. He stated, "What 5-star arrangements? Ready to sleep on the road. Want to ask the Opposition if I cannot have this basic facility, how will I work every day? A small bathroom was built. I will not be taking it back with me."

Speaking further about his campaign in the Karnataka villages, HD Kumaraswamy said, "It will help kids here. I came here on an ordinary bus. I did not come in a Volvo bus. I do not need to learn anything from BJP. I have slept in a hut as well as in a 5-star hotel. When my father was Prime Minister, I slept in Grand Kremlin Palace, Russia. I have seen everything in life."

As he was alleged to be doing poll gimmicks by starting the campaign of village stay, he said that he has come for this campaign as for him, working on the ground was important. He further added that his friends (opposition) may sit at the legislative assembly and speak about village welfare, but he cannot do so. He wants to do it right from the villages and hence he has opted for the ''village stay programme.’'

The school students were also arranged to have an interaction with the CM wherein he discussed the problems faced by them.

As he went to the schools to meet the students, he said, he has come to the school as a part of his campaign as a school is the place for imparting education and education leads to more development. He also added that his officers went around villages, discussed with the villagers and created awareness about various schemes. With this, they hope that now the issues of the villagers will be resolved.
